Phase 2 of the MSDG project focuses on:

Accredited training and CPD on Consular Services and Diaspora Diplomacy (CSDD), and Public Sector Management (PSM);
Diaspora engagement and the annual Stake in the Nation Forum (SNF);
Facilitation of diaspora voting and participation in municipal, national, regional and international policy processes;
Support the development of the Gambia Diaspora Directorate (GDD);
Reducing the cost of remittances and issuance of Diaspora Bonds;
Gambian Diaspora Technical Support (GDTS) and diaspora investment

Gambia Diaspora Festival

Thursday 28th December 2017 is the start of the Gambia Diaspora Festival,; one of the many events taking place in the Gambia to celebrate a year in which Gambians in the diaspora were free to return to their homeland and enjoy living under a democratic rule of law. The 4-day event will finish on Sunday 31st December 2017 at the Independence Stadium with a Mega Concert featuring a number of Gambian artists from the diaspora as well as many local artists.

As the Gambia celebrates the month designated for the Diaspora, we also dedicated a few days to  remember all the Heroes who risked their lives to liberate the country of Yaya Jammeh’s tyrannical administration. The homecoming event starts on Friday 29th December 2017 with Jumma Prayers at the Kanifing Mosques, welcome the Heroes is on 30th Dec, meeting the victims on 6th Jan and finally finishes with Prayer services for both the Fallen and surviving Heroes on 7th Jan 2018.

Diaspora Education Forum Planning and Consultative Meeting
