The First Stake in the Nation Forum’ (SNF1)

The First Stake in the Nation Forum’ (SNF1) is organised on behalf of the Migration and Sustainable Development in The Gambia Project (MSDG) by Professor Gibril Faal to be held at the Kairaba Hotel on Saturday 13th January 2018.

His Excellency President Adama Barrow will deliver the Keynote address with a number of Ministers and Heads of Non-Government Agencies including the Swiss Ambassador to The Gambia, conveying statements on migration and sustainable development in the Gambia.

This conference brings a close to the much celebrated Diaspora Month by Gambians both home and abroad allowing members of the diaspora to come home and engage in national development activities.

Professor Faal will present the draft Gambia Diaspora Strategy (2018-27). The team will also be launching a report on sustainable livelihoods for migrant returnees from Libya and Niger, facilitate thematic discussion of the National Development Plan (NDP) implementation, dialogue between diaspora experts, government officials, and other stakeholders and finally launch the Stake in the Nation Forum (SNF) as an annual consultative dialogue mechanism.
